Texas Christian University, Administration Building

2631_Admin--South-Core_1920x768

Vaughn is serving as construction manager-at-risk for this new administration building. A symbol of a new entry to the campus, the building is framed by a large, arched opening and flanked by a tower, visible from multiple campus entry points. The welcoming and approachable landmark, characterized by its use of familiar campus materials and details, sits in a landscaped open space designed to a comfortable pedestrian scale. The building consists of one three-story wing and one two-story wing, each with mechanical attics. The building uses the campus material palette of blended blond brick, cast stone details and embellishments crowned with a red tile roof. It features two-story curved bay windows at the east and west ends of the building which optimize the natural light and exterior views from the majority of the spaces. Among other offices, this building houses the Office of the Chancellor and Office of the Vice Chancellors. Program spaces include offices, meeting rooms, break rooms, toilets, and other support spaces. We are also converting the main campus drive from a vehicular paved road to pedestrian walk areas. We are installing new hardscapes, landscaping, and irrigation throughout this new pedestrian area.
