University of Houston at Sugar Land Celebrates Topping Out of New College of Engineering Building

The University of Houston at Sugar Land recently celebrated the topping out milestone for the new College of Engineering-Sugar Land Academic Building 2, for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk. The 75,000 SF building will be home for faculty, staff, and Cullen College of Engineering students.

"The topping out milestone signifies the hard work and dedication of our team, trade partners, and all the craft workers involved," said a Vaughn project manager. "Completing the structure not only signifies the end of the concrete phase but also the beginning of the project’s next exciting phase."

To commemorate the occasion, the team enjoyed a celebratory lunch, giveaways, and a presentation highlighting the project's progress. "Successful projects depend on building strong relationships and collaborating effectively with all parties involved,” said a Vaughn superintendent. “We are thrilled to work alongside the University of Houston at Sugar Land on this new facility and look forward to sharing more as the project progresses."

The project is slated to reach substantial completion in 2025.
