MD Anderson Cancer Center’s South Campus Research Building 5 (SCRB5) Tops Out

MD Anderson Cancer Center recently celebrated the topping out milestone for the 600,000 SF South Campus Research Building 5 (SCRB5), for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk. The building will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and advanced facilities to support groundbreaking research in the oncology field.

Over 500 attendees gathered at the project site to mark the occasion. The topping out milestone provided a well-earned moment for the team to celebrate their significant achievement with a celebratory lunch.

“We are thrilled to partner with MD Anderson on another innovative research facility,” said a Vaughn project manager. “Vaughn has a long-standing relationship with MD Anderson, and our team is honored to further MD Anderson’s mission of making cancer history. The topping out milestone signifies our step forward to achieving that goal.”

The project is slated to reach substantial completion in July 2027.
