Vaughn Recognized at Associated General Contractors’ Outstanding Construction Awards

Associated General Contractors (AGC) Texas Building Branch recently recognized Vaughn Construction at the Outstanding Construction Awards for the UT Health San Antonio, Multispecialty and Research Hospital.

“This award reflects the long hours, and effort our team invested to make the Multispecialty and Research Hospital a reality,” said a Vaughn project manager. “ The hospital stands as a testament to our team’s commitment to excellence. I am especially proud of its potential to transform cancer research and treatment for the people of San Antonio.”

The new 144-bed hospital in South Texas Medical Center expands UT Health San Antonio's capacity for advanced cancer care and other specialties. The hospital offers a more convenient and accessible option for South Texas patients to receive specialized care closer to home. The exterior façade incorporates innovative shading elements to optimize energy efficiency and reduce heat gain. A pedestrian bridge connects the new facility to the existing campus, enhancing connectivity and accessibility for patients and staff.

“For 17 years, Vaughn has delivered facilities for UT Health San Antonio that drive groundbreaking research,” said a Vaughn superintendent. “With the Multispecialty and Research Hospital, we built a space where that research now directly improves lives. I am proud of the facility we built and grateful that AGC recognized our hard work. What inspires me most is seeing how many lives our efforts are already helping and knowing that this building will continue to make a difference for generations to come.”
