Vaughn Honored with Community Service Award

The Children’s Assessment Center (CAC) recently honored Vaughn Construction with a “Cherish the Child Humanitarian Award” for our service and commitment to helping victims of child sexual abuse. The CAC provides a professional, compassionate, and coordinated approach to the treatment of sexually abused children and their families and serves as an advocate for all children in our community. In October 2018, as part of our 30 Days of Community Service for 30 Years campaign, the Houston Methodist West Hospital project team donated their time and services to upgrade and refresh various workspaces throughout the facility. 12 Vaughn employees and a group of Martinez Millwork employees worked together to repair and repaint walls, install carpet, build cabinets and storage shelving, and reconfigure workspaces throughout the facility. Martinez Millwork was also honored with the “Cherish the Child Humanitarian Award” for their service. At the donor reception in April, Michael Sewell and Tommy Waldron accepted the award on behalf of Vaughn Construction. Joan Campbell, president of the CAC and retired Harris County District Court Judge, presented the awards. Campbell thanked our team’s commitment to our community and praised our craftsmanship, which is already being put to good work in the facility. Special thanks to all of our Vaughn volunteers!
