Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital Kicks-Off South Tower Expansion

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital recently celebrated a groundbreaking of the second phase of its master plan, the new South Tower Expansion. At the event, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital CEO Debbie Sukin spoke about how the community quickly embraced The Woodlands complex in the two short years since its opening. Sukin, a resident of the community, shared how she knew the hospital would be well received because of the community's interest in exceptional care. She said Houston Methodist's vision to lead medicine aligned well with the community's interests. Houston Methodist CEO and president Dr. Marc Boom, and Houston Methodist board members and executives praised the hospital for its rapid and continuing success.

Page is the design firm, and Vaughn Construction is the construction manager-at-risk for the expansion which includes a 250,000 SF patient tower that will add 100 beds, an expanded emergency center and operating suite, and additional space for the diagnostic imaging department, heart center, endoscopy center, and childbirth center. Vaughn built the existing complex and has continued to build projects on campus since the hospital's inception.
