Sunnyside Health & Multiservice Center Breaks Ground

Vaughn recently broke ground on the new $24 million Sunnyside Health and Multiservice Center. The event featured speeches from Houston mayor Sylvester Turner, U.S. congressman Al Green, the director of the Houston Health Department, and city council member Carolyn Evans-Shabazz. The new two-story building will support the expansion of health services in Houston’s historic Sunnyside community with medical clinics, dental clinics, and administrative offices for the Houston Health Department. The building also will serve as a meeting space for residents, providing large meeting rooms and an auditorium for community gatherings. Substantial completion is scheduled for 2022. The architect is Kirksey Architecture.
