Community Recognition for the Travis County Probate Court Renovation

Through the Travis County, Probate Courts Building Renovation project, we helped improve our communities by rejuvenating a piece of Austin’s history and culture. The project has since won the Outstanding Construction Award from AGCs Austin Chapter and the state chapter, the Texas Building Branch.

Preservation Austin also awarded the Travis County Probate Court with the Preservation Award for Rehabilitation + Sustainability. The heritage society hosts the annual preservation merit awards to recognize ambitious and innovative approaches to preserving Austin’s historic places.

At the awards celebration, the heritage society shared videos of the Merit Award winners (https://bit.ly/PreservationMeritAward). Senior market manager Jose Villareal attended the event on behalf of Vaughn, alongside representatives of the design team and Travis County, including the county facility director Roger El Khoury and the county project manager Homer Villarreal.

Additionally, the Travis County Commissioners Court recognized our project team, the design team, and the Travis County Facilities Management Department with a proclamation for the outstanding work renovating the courthouse. The proclamation reads, “The jury admired the project’s efforts to maintain the interior spatial relations, the gorgeous courtroom spaces, and deft handling of such a large exterior restoration of the new probate courthouse.”
