In March, nearly 1,000 middle and high school girls attended #SHEbuildshouston in partnership with Construction Career Collaborative (C3) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Houston Chapter. This event provided female students an opportunity to explore construction careers and learn how they can use their talents and passions in an industry traditionally dominated by men. Attendees learned how to use new technologies, participated in hands-on building activities, and connected with local women in the construction industry—all while wearing pink hard hats! Female leaders on Vaughn Construction’s estimating and project management teams participated in the event encouraging future generations of females to consider this industry. We are grateful to these team members and to C3 for making this event possible.
