275 representatives from Vaughn, College of the Mainland (COM), Cannon Design, LAN, faculty, staff, and trade partners gathered to celebrate the topping out of COM’s new 160,000 SF Library and Learning Center, for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk.
A key feature of this project is its role in supporting College of the Mainland’s expanding academic programs. The new space will provide students with hands-on learning opportunities while strengthening the college’s ability to serve the surrounding community through enhanced training environments and modern instructional resources.
“We broke ground seven or eight months ago, and now to see the structure reach the highest point is very exciting,” said a Vaughn project manager. “Topping out allows us to celebrate the team’s hard work as we near the finish line.”
“The topping out milestone represents thousands of hours of coordination and hard work from our team,” said a project engineer. “Now, we transition to the exterior and interior scopes, which will bring an exciting new stage.”
