Texas Facilities Commission, North Austin Complex Phase One

2493_TFC-NAC_1920x768

It had been quite some time since Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) had built a ground up building, so they reached out to Vaughn to help resolve constructability and logistical issues on the North Austin Complex Phase One. TFC wanted to ensure they presented a well-thought-out master plan prior to the 83rd session of the Texas legislature, which would determine if they could move forward with the new complex. After the project was approved in the legislature, Vaughn was selected as construction manager-at-risk for Phase One of the North Austin Complex. Phase One consists of a nine-story concrete office building and a 1,850-space parking garage encompassing a central utility plant. The ground floor of the office building contains conference rooms while the upper floors contain office space and take advantage of the downtown Austin views. The goal of Phase One was to consolidate multiple tenants from different agencies into one building and to provide state-of-the-art office space that supported TFC's long-term needs.
