The new 11,000 SF, one-story building features a Transition to College Career Lab, a college enrollment lab, and spacious areas for classes and community gatherings. It introduces new services, including parent engagement programs and family rooms for student parents, which address the need for family-oriented resources. Additionally, the newly established Dream Center will provide a dedicated space for student leadership groups to collaborate and plan initiatives.
The rooftop air-handling unit (AHU) is crucial for maintaining temperature, ventilation, and humidity at the Empowerment Center, ensuring comfort for students and faculty. To ensure a seamless and timely installation, Vaughn secured material deliveries over a year in advance and conducted biweekly coordination meetings to align with the interior finishes schedule. Recognizing the potential for traffic disruption on a busy campus street, Vaughn strategically scheduled early morning AHU material deliveries to minimize the impact on campus operations.
