The 150,000 SF Event Center accommodates up to 8,000 fans for basketball games and nearly 10,000 attendees for concerts. The two-story multipurpose arena significantly expands entertainment options in the region, offering space for concerts, conventions, symposiums, conferences, and athletic events. The facility also provides a reliable contingency for commencement ceremonies, allowing them to move indoors during inclement weather, adding flexibility and value to the university’s event planning.
Installing the roof structure posed a major challenge. We placed precast seating on steel supports before lifting six massive steel trusses, each 230 feet long, into position. Using two cranes, the team carefully hoisted and held the trusses until secured, a process requiring precision and coordination. The trusses, delivered from Houston, demanded meticulous scheduling and hours of work to ensure stability before the roof could be completed
