Houston Methodist West recently selected Vaughn Construction as construction manager-at-risk for the three-story, 60,160 SF addition to the hospital’s West Tower. The addition includes an expanded emergency department, new surgical suites, and an observatory unit. Additionally, a one-story expansion to the original hospital will enhance food services with refrigeration and dry storage areas.
The project also upgrades the central utility plant and expands the ambulance bay to improve overall functionality. The expansion is part of a multi-phase plan for Houston Methodist West, following the recent opening of a new six-story medical office, which Vaughn substantially completed in 2023.
